Summer Adventure

Join the Dodge Center Library for a virtual road trip this summer! All ages can participate in our adults vs. kids hike around all the lower 48 states!

For Ages 0 – 17:

Pick up a reading log at the library or print one from the website – no registration necessary! Mark off every 15 minutes your child reads or someone reads to your child. Once the reading log is full, turn it in at the library. They will earn 1 mile for the kids’ team for every 15 minutes of reading. Kids can also earn bonus miles for every 15 minutes spent outside (maximum 10 per form). If they visit a state or national park, that’s an additional bonus! Fill up as many sheets as you need between June 1 and July 31.

Plus kids earn one library dollar for each hour of reading when they turn in their forms. Save up those dollars, and your child can “buy” their own prizes at our Library Store on June 29 and July 31 from 10am-5pm. Pick up the reading log at the library or print one off from home.

For Ages 18 and up:

Pick up a reading log at the library or print one from the website – no registration necessary! Earn one mile for the adult team for every 1 mile you run or walk. Or earn a mile for the team for every 15 minutes of active movement (swimming, biking, gardening, etc.). Plus adults earn bonus miles for reading – 10 miles for each book read (picture books not included). Adults can also earn bonus miles for visiting a state or national park.

Turn in the completed forms to enter in to weekly drawings. You can fill out as many sheets as you’d like between June 1 and July 31. Pick up the reading log at the library or print one off from home.
